In the Fight Against COVID, Needville ISD Arms Teachers and Students with R-Water’s Advanced Disinfecting Technology

8/18/20

Today, R-Water announces the installation of its EPA-regulated device for the Needville Independent School District (ISD). R-Water technology allows for the on-site production of TK60, a hypoallergenic healthcare-grade disinfectant proven to safely and quickly kill COVID-19.

“Disinfection is more than just cleaning,” said Curtis Rhodes, Superintendent of Needville ISD. “In addition to the work of our custodial staff, I wanted to empower our teachers and students with a safe disinfectant to instill a sense of confidence and security.”

The CDC recommends using disinfecting products with the shortest contact time possible. While disinfectants commonly used in schools include toxic ingredients and require a wet contact time of 10 minutes to work, TK60 destroys pathogens in just one minute and is safe for humans and the environment.

“Teachers and students should be focused on academics, not overly complicated and hazardous disinfection protocols. We’re proud to have Needville ISD as an ally in the fight against COVID-19,” said Rayne Guest, founder and CEO of R-Water.

Proper disinfection and sanitization of more than 700,000 square feet spanning five campuses is critical to the August 24, 2020, re-opening for the district’s 3,500 pre-kindergarten to 12th grade students and 450 educators and administrators.

R-Water’s device is attached directly to the water supply in the district’s central warehouse to produce hundreds of gallons of TK60 each day. The product will be delivered to the campuses daily through the same distribution program that provides food items to various campuses.

In addition to the classroom, TK60 will be utilized throughout the athletic facilities, kitchens, and busses for use without restriction or fear of shortages.

R-Water’s device also produces FC+, an all-purpose cleaner and degreaser. Both solutions are free of toxins, color, and added fragrance; and eliminate the need for multiple disinfectants, sanitizers, deodorizers, degreasers, and surface-specific cleaners. TK60 also complies with FDA code for use on food contact surfaces with no rinse required.

R-Water is committed to reducing the spread of preventable infectious diseases and unnecessary human and environmental exposure to chemicals and toxins. Further, R-Water’s technology allows facilities to produce cleaning and disinfecting solutions on-site and ready-to-use, eliminating the need for chemical transport, storage, mixing, and the disposal of toxic chemical containers into our environment.
