Caydon Breaks Ground For Its First U.S. Development 2850 Fannin Street

11/10/17

Caydon,  one of Melbourne, Australia's leading lifestyle and property developers with experience in residential, commercial, retail and hotels, celebrated the construction commencement of a luxury residential tower situated at 2850 Fannin St. The project is the first high-rise development in Midtown, one of Houston’s most evolving neighborhoods.

Joe Russo, principal of Caydon, was joined by Andy Icken, Houston chief development officer; Matt Thibodeaux, executive director of Midtown Redevelopment Authority; William Franks, board chairman of Midtown Management District; Patrick Walsh, Director of Planning and Development Houston, and Brian Cook, vice president of HOAR Construction to celebrate the inauguration of the company’s first U.S. development.

“Caydon is driven by customers and has built a strong reputation in Melbourne by consistently delivering successful projects that revitalize communities,” said Joe Russo, principal of Caydon. “We have selected one of the most vibrant, active neighborhoods of Houston for our first U.S. residential project offering our future residents a wide variety of dining, shopping and entertainment venues. Our vision for the tower on Fannin Street is to create an iconic landmark with modern residences that will thrive for years to come.”

Caydon offers a unique lifestyle experience for residents through the creation of dynamic retail and entertainment hubs, and adds to the liveliness of the community. The team takes pride in achieving outcomes that will make a lasting, positive impact on the future and shares the vision that every development creates a connection with the neighborhood and complements, not competes with the surrounding environment.

Designed by Houston-based Ziegler Cooper Architects, the project will feature 27-stories, 357 apartment units and breathtaking 360-degree views. The multi-family project will be equipped with European-styled interiors and ultra-modern amenities to bring the Melbourne livability to Midtown, as the Australian hotspot was named the world’s best city to live in for the seventh consecutive year. Exclusive amenities include an expansive pool with swim-up bar, yoga studio, dog park, sky lounge with spectacular Downtown views, and more.

Conveniently located by the METRO Rail between Houston’s two major employment centers, future tenants will be near Downtown and the world’s largest medical complex – Texas Medical Center. The project is also adjacent to the highly anticipated Midtown Park and lively nightlife of Montrose and offers residents easy access to highways.

Following Hurricane Harvey, the project is still on schedule for completion and strives to be the leading force of rehabilitation in the surrounding community. Future tenants will be able to move in starting early 2019. For more information and updates, please visit http://caydonusa.com/2850Fannin
