Stantec Expands Services in Texas with Leadership Move to Houston

Stantec continues its focus on growth and integrated services in Texas with the relocation of two leaders in the firm’s Oil & Gas group.

Carlos Gonzalez, vice president and oil & gas sector leader for Stantec’s US and international markets, has relocated from Stantec’s Bakersfield, California, office, to the firm’s Jefferson Street location in Houston, Texas. Gonzalez has 32 years of experience providing management and engineering services for a variety of projects in oil and gas production and exploration. He will apply his technical knowledge and leadership experience to guide operations, business development, and talent acquisition as Stantec expands the firm’s energy services in Texas.

Gonzalez earned his mechanical engineering degree at the University of Zulia, Venezuela, and his master of science in chemical engineering at the University of Oklahoma. His background includes upstream and midstream facilities and terminals, specializing in process engineering, optimization, troubleshooting, and project execution. A thought leader in the oil and gas industry, he has given seminars on process engineering and project execution internationally.

Walter Brandhuber, vice president and oil & gas sector leader for Stantec’s Environmental Services group, has also relocated from California, moving from Stantec’s Irvine location on Technology Drive to the firm’s East Greenway Plaza office in Houston. Brandhuber has 36 years of experience in originating, developing, negotiating, and closing M&A and joint venture transactions to create shareholder value in the international oil and gas industry.

Brandhuber earned his master of business administration in finance at the University of Notre Dame and his juris doctor degree at the University of Oklahoma. His background includes M&A and joint venture dealings in more than 40 markets, including direct involvement with foreign governments, Middle East finance houses, institutional money managers, investment banks, and private equity firms. His market acumen and finance expertise will enhance strategic pursuit and business development efforts for Stantec’s Oil & Gas practice in the firm’s South Central region.
