Water Treatment Engineer Jeremy Gaston Joins Freese And Nichols In Southeast Texas

Freese and Nichols, Inc. has announced that Jeremy Gaston, P.E., has joined the firm as a senior project manager for the Southeast Texas Treatment, Transmission and Utilities Group located in Pearland, Texas. Gaston’s experience will enhance the firm’s ability to provide water and wastewater treatment solutions for municipal clients in the greater Houston area by offering a new level of national insight.

“Jeremy’s in-depth experience working on extensive water treatment projects in some of the nation’s largest cities strengthens our ability to provide our clients with innovative solutions,” said Brian Coltharp, P.E., president and CEO of Freese and Nichols. “Jeremy’s expertise and history of successful project delivery coupled with his significant leadership skills will enable us to expand our capabilities across southeast Texas.”

Over the last 24 years, Gaston has built a reputation among many cities and counties for his knowledge and experience in water and wastewater treatment pursuits. In his new role as a lead technical adviser for potable drinking water and wastewater at Freese and Nichols, Gaston will provide comprehensive insight for process design and water quality analysis, including pilot testing and the construction and start-up of water and wastewater treatment plants and pump stations of all types and sizes in the industry. He also has design and construction experience with large collection systems and transmission systems, including widespread inflow/infiltration analysis. 

Gaston’s initial projects with Freese and Nichols will be providing water and wastewater treatment consulting for the City of Huntsville and the City of Houston. In addition to working on many conventional and high-rate treatment projects in Cleveland, Ohio, Gaston has been involved with numerous municipalities over the course of his career, including Tampa, Florida; Orlando, Florida; Indianapolis, Indiana; Cincinnati, Ohio; Columbus, Ohio and Detroit, Michigan, to name a few.

Throughout his career, Gaston has been actively involved with many national professional organizations and frequently shares his insights with members of the associations. He currently serves on the Municipal Resource and Recovery Design Committee and the Public Communication and Outreach Committee for the Water Environment Federation and is also a member of the Water Treatment Facilities Design and Construction Committee for the American Water Works Association and soon he will be engaged with the Texas Association of Clean Water Agencies.

Gaston earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Akron in Ohio.
