Community Invited to Grand Reopening Celebration on Friday, June 9
The Walmart Supercenter remodel at 9460 W. Sam Houston Parkway is complete and, in addition to the physical changes inside, customers now have access to Online Grocery Pickup.
Houston residents will now be able to order Walmart groceries online and pick them up without ever having to unbuckle their seatbelts. Customers select from up to 40,000 online grocery items, diapers, dog food and more, and choose the best time to pick up. A Walmart personal shopper loads the groceries into the car when you arrive – all at no additional cost.
Residents are invited to a grand reopening event, scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon, Friday. The Houston Supercenter will host fun events for the whole family, and samples and giveaways will be available, while supplies last. A brief ribbon cutting will be held at 9 a.m.
“This remodel was about more than a fresh coat of paint,” said Store Manager Wayman Jones. “It was about investing in ways for Houston customers to save time and money. Grocery shopping, especially for busy families with kids, used to take a couple of hours on the weekend. Now, it's a matter of a few clicks and one of our associates bringing the order out to their vehicle.
“This remodel, along with our everyday low prices, represents our continued investment in Houston and a step to ensure we’re meeting its evolving needs,” said Jones. “Listening to customers and expanding services and our shopping environment along with incorporating a broader range of Hispanic, Asian and Indian grocery items is just another way we are working to be a true community store.”
Customers will also enjoy the following store improvements:
· State-of-the-art electronics department with interactive displays that encourage customers to try laptops, tablets and other technology prior to purchasing.
· Enhanced baby department with strollers at floor level for test drive
· The addition of a Mother’s Room along with upgrades to the bathrooms
· Private Wellness Room in the Pharmacy
· Walmart Pickup station now conveniently located near front of the store
· Easier to navigate; improved store flow, wider aisles, lower fixtures for better line of sight
· The addition of large tools such as power washers and generators in hardware;
· 8 self-checkout lanes.
