Freese and Nichols, Inc. announces that Drew Hardin, P.E., has joined the firm as an Associate in the Central Texas Treatment, Transmission and Utilities Group in Austin. Hardin’s experience in water and wastewater infrastructure — specifically master planning, large-diameter sewers and transmission mains, lift stations and rehabilitation projects — will help serve the firm’s clients throughout Central and South Texas.

“Drew’s excellent leadership skills and his wide knowledge about water and wastewater infrastructure make it clear he will be an asset to our team,” said Brian Coltharp, president and CEO of Freese and Nichols. “This experience, combined with his familiarity with the region and his passion for serving clients, is a great combination that will help our clients find solutions to their growing infrastructure demands.”

Hardin joins Freese and Nichols with more than 26 years of experience in progressive planning and design. He has provided project management and leadership on a variety of large civil infrastructure projects for public and private entities in Central Texas and across the state. Most recently, Hardin was vice president for a national engineering firm where he served as regional director over six offices along Texas’ Interstate 35 corridor. Earlier in his career, while working for the Lower Colorado River Authority, he oversaw the planning for over 30 water and wastewater systems throughout the Colorado River Basin.

Hardin earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, and was recently recognized as a distinguished alumnus by being inducted into the Texas Tech Civil and Environmental Engineering Academy. He is a professional member of the American Water Works Association and the Water Environment Foundation and is an active member of his church community.
