Now in its 31st year, the awards program recognizes entrepreneurs who are excelling in areas such as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.

Darwish co-founded Skinny IT in 2010 to provide IT solutions to enterprises across various industries with unparalleled service and support. In recent years, he has also assisted additional companies achieve success with his expertise in business and technology. In 2013, Darwish opened the Frisco franchise of Jump!Zone, a family entertainment center. Additionally, in 2014 he founded Burgers, Buns, & Beverages Inc., which operates the Carl's Jr quick service restaurants in the North Texas area. Finally, in 2016 Darwish became a franchisee board member for Blo Blow Dry Bar and co-founded Fireracker, which provides IT services for small and medium-sized businesses.
The EY Entrepreneur Of The Year program recognizes business leaders in over 145 cities and more than 60 countries throughout the world. Darwish was selected as a finalist by a panel of independent judges. Award winners will be announced at a special gala event on June 24 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas.
Regional award winners are eligible for consideration for the Entrepreneur Of The Year National competition. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the Entrepreneur Of The Year National Overall Award winner, will be announced at the Entrepreneur Of The Year National Awards gala in Palm Springs, California, on November 18.
