Eversheds Sutherland Represents Tokyo Gas America in First Investment in US New-Build Power Generation Facility

Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP is pleased to announce that the firm represented Tokyo Gas America Ltd. in its acquisition of a 33.33% stake in the 488-MW Birdsboro combined cycle power plant, now under construction near Pennsylvania’s Marcellus shale gas field, from Ares EIF Management. The facility is scheduled to complete construction and become operational by mid-2019. Once operational, the plant will deliver energy into the PJM interconnection in the northeastern US.

Eversheds Sutherland (US)’s Energy and Infrastructure Partner Ram C. Sunkara led the deal team on the transaction with support from Counsel Benjamin Rajabi.
