CRE Professionals Group Volunteer to Repair and Restore Grounds for Spring Season

The Association of Commercial Real Estate Professionals (ACRP) paired with Houston’s Buffalo Bayou Partnership (BBP) to launch spring cleaning, with organization members volunteering to clean and repair sections of the 160-acre park.

An active organization dedicated to community stewardship, ACRP hosts numerous community service events each year. The professionals’ group launched their 2017 philanthropy season in the heart of Houston, with 30+ volunteers working alongside the recently revitalized Buffalo Bayou Park to restore greenscapes lining the waterway and bike trails. Launching efforts near the Water Works Underground Cistern, the group canvased over a quarter mile of the 10-mile park, planting new greenery, mulching existing grounds and — a side effect of recent flooding — removing extensive debris swept in by heavy rainfall.

ACRP’s Community Affairs Director, Randy Young states, “Our organization extends much further than just conducting business in commercial real estate; we are fully interwoven and connected to our community, and forever welcome opportunities to contribute. We are all so fortunate to be out here today, taking care of Houston’s iconic Buffalo Bayou, helping preserve it’s natural wonder for generations to come.”

In 2015, Buffalo Bayou Partnership (BBP) transformed Buffalo Bayou Park—Shepherd to Sabine project into an award-winning and iconic park in Houston. The park now boasts major destinations, natural landscaping, footpaths, trail lighting, water features and pedestrian bridges. ACRP celebrates the opportunity to volunteer with BBP, as many organization members have contributed to the $58 million waterfront revitalization project.ACRP celebrates the opportunity to parter with the BBP, as many organization members and have contributed to the $150 million waterfront redevelopment project.

Commemorating their 30th Anniversary, ACRP recently unveiled revitalized branding, as well as a completely new and improved website. For more information or to get involved, visit www.acrp.org.
