Arlington-Native Organ Donor to Have Floragraph Featured at Annual Pasadena Rose Parade

Service Corporation International Sponsors Donate Life Float at the 128th Rose Parade

At the Dallas Florograph Finishing Event, P.J. Wolf’s family put the finishing touches on his floragraph, or a floral portrait of his face made from organic materials. The image of J.P. depicted how he gave the ultimate gift of life to others after his passing by way of organ donation. At just 8-years old, P.J. was able to provide a heart valve to Dallas-native Katy Portell, ultimately saving her life. Now 24-years old and a passionate advocate for organ donation, Katy will meet PJ’s family on Jan. 2 at the nationally televised Rose Parade in Pasadena, Calif. She will ride on the Donate Life Rose Parade Float, sponsored by Service Corporation International (SCI), which will feature P.J.’s florograph to help raise awareness for organ donation.

The Donate Life Float is made possible by Dignity Memorial, a brand of Service Corporation International (SCI). Since 2009, SCI has participated in Donate Life’s annual tribute to organ, eye and tissue donors, and helped 43 client families honor a loved one with a memorial portrait featured on the Donate Life Float. These portraits, called “floragraphs”, are made primarily of flowers, seeds and other natural materials. The Dignity Memorial locations honoring donors with a floragraph sponsorship this year include P.J. as well as three other donors from New Jersey, Las Vegas and Detroit.
