HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Joseph Alexander Jr. of Mithoff Law is pleased to announce the formation of The Alexander Firm with his son, Joshua Alexander and E. Troy Blakeney in an ‘of counsel’ position.

Joseph Alexander began his legal career at Andrews Kurth before becoming a partner at McFall & Sartwelle where he practiced professional defense until founding Hanen, Alexander, Johnson & Spalding, LLP in 1993, growing the firm from 6-26 attorneys. In 2002, Alexander joined Mithoff, representing plaintiffs in medical malpractice, product liability, commercial, first party insurance, and oil & gas matters.

In addition to seeking financial compensation for his clients, covering their medical needs and daily care, Alexander’s mission has always been to serve the greater good. For example, a 19-year old boy suffered a wrongful death when an overhead crane, with no insulator link to protect him, made contact with a power line. Following testimony to an OSHA subcommittee, Alexander and the young man’s father were able to influence the enactment of a new law to prevent similar accidents. And, when a design defect in the front wheel assembly of a mountain bicycle caused the wheel to separate from the bicycle, rendering the rider a quadriplegic, Alexander obtained compensation for the rider’s injuries and forced a recall of all bicycles manufactured with this wheel assembly.

Vietnam Veteran and former fire fighter for the City of Houston, E. Troy Blakeney, is also passionate about the law, bringing years of litigation experience and success with him. Troy continues to be a senior member of the Houston Firefighters Union’s legal team and battles on behalf of firefighters over wage and hour cases, insuring fair pay.
