HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, Marine Well Containment Company (MWCC) was recognized with the Blue Heron Award from the Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association (LMOGA) during the association's annual meeting in New Orleans. Created in 1993, the award recognizes exceptional environmental stewardship in association with oil and gas activity. Specifically, MWCC was honored for the company's efforts in deepwater well containment in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.

MWCC's containment system is available to all oil and gas operators in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico either as a member or on a per-well basis.
